Comeback Complete

Last night the Blackhawks showed everyone how good the Blackhawks can play when they're playing at their best. Overcoming a 3-1 deficit the Blackhawks just joined a very select group of teams who have done this amazing feat. In my opinion it would be extremely hard to bet against the Blackhawks to win the Eastern Conference and move onto the finals against Pittsburgh or Boston. However, John Quick could pose a problem to this impressive Chicago team, most people believe that he is by far the best goalie in the NHL at the moment.

Michigan Snags Peppers

On this past sunday Number one ranked cornerback decided to join the Michigan Woverines.Jabrill Peppers was the number two prospect of the 2014 class. Peppers is a ultimate playmaker at his high school right. He plays special teams, offense, and defense. This is very early for a prospect of his caliber to commit. There's no question that peppers will help Michigan very much. I assume that that Jabrill will not make a huge difference as an underclassmen. But his junior and senior year he will be useful for the already loaded Michigan Wolverines.

Miami Heat VS. Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers relentlessly attacked the basket, continually won the battle for loose balls, dominated the glass, and once again shut down the Miami Heat.
Pacers' big man Roy Hibbert finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Lance Stephenson also added 20 points to the Pacers rage. The Pacers pulled away with a 16-6 run to close out the defending NBA Champions in game 4.

Just like that, the playoff pressure swung back in Miami's direction. The Heat went 1-of-9 in the final 5 minutes of the 4th quarter Tuesday. The Pacers got the croud going early in Indiana after starting with an 11-0 run. They got the heat in foul trouble, including Lebron James fouling out of a playoff game for only the second time in his career.

The pacers starting five believed that this was the only way that they could get back into this best-of-seven series. The pacers will look to take the lead in the series in game 5.
Final Score:
Indiana Pacers- 99
Miami Heat- 92

Top Performers
Miami: L. James 24 Pts, 6 Reb, 5 Ast, 1 Stl, 3 Blk

Blackhawks Take Down the Wings in Game 6

The Chicago Blackhawks extend their season to a game seven back in Chicago. The Hawks scored three goals in the first half of the third period to beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in game 6.

Bryan Bickell had the go-ahead score early in the third and NHL's top-seeded team earned a shot to advance to a game 7 back in Chicago.

The Blackhawks went on an offensive flurry scoring three goals in the third period agianst Jimmy Howard. They needed that cushion because the Wings' Damian Brunner scored a goal with 52 seconds left to bring the Wings within one goal. This lead was just too much for the Red Wings to handle as they made some crutial defensive mistakes.
Final Score:
Chicago Blackhawks- 4
Detroit Red Wings- 3

CHI (3:53) Marian Hossa (5) Power Play

Duke Wins it All

Coach John Danowski gets drenched after winning his second title in four years. Duke has made it to at least the final four the past four years. Now without question Coach Danowski has had the most successful season in the past decade. Going into the weekend the Blue Devils'goalie Kyle Turri was a big question. But he for sure stood his ground through-out  both games this championship weekend.

Swept

Last night for just the second time in the history of the NBA, a team was swept in the Western Conference finals. However, this time it was the Memphis Grizzlies. I think that the biggest reason of Memphis' struggles has been some of their key players not stepping up to the plate in key games. Zach Randolph is one of these players, he has struggled throughout the playoffs and this series in particular. This may be in part because of the San Antonio stout defense, not allowing too many easy shots for the normally efficient Grizzlies. Another reason for San Antionio's domination was Tony Parker, stepping up to the plate and showing truly how dominant he can be when utilized properly.
Top Performers:
San Antonio: T. Parker 37 Pts, 4 Reb, 6 Ast
Memphis: Q. Pondexter 22 Pts, 3 Reb, 1 Ast, 2 Stl

Heat Race Past the Pacers

A big game by Udonis Haslem led to an easy Miami Heat win. Haslem scored more points in game three than he did in game one and two combined. He had seventeen in game three and three in game one and two. Lebron only had twenty-two points and Dwanye Wade only had eighteen. Now the Heat scored a franchise record seventy points in the first half. That is a video game like number. If the Heat keep putting numbers up like that it will be hard for anyone to stop them. My precdiction is that the Heat will win out the rest of this series. I think they will win out because they're just too hot right now. I don't think anyone can stop them, even the Spurs in the finals.

Penguins Win Another

Last night the Penguins impressed all of hockey last night scoring a playoff high so far this postseason 7 goals. I think that this really showed how dominant the Penguins are when all of their weapons are playing at their best. If the Penguins in my opinion keep playing like they are, in my opinion they will definitly be in route for a Stanley Cup Birth for the first time since 2009. After some great saves by the Ottowa goalie the Penguins were finally able to get past the Ottowa's defense with a shot by James Neal. Goals also from stars like Crosby, Kunitz and Iginla helped the Pens' get by Ottowa once again. The winner of this series is most likely to face the Bruins next round in the finals of the Eastern Conference.

Miami Takes Game 1

Triple Double Again
Another one of Lebron James' triple doubles sealed the deal for the Heat in Game 1. This match up between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers was everything it was excepeted to be. It was a tough hard fought game all the way through for both teams. Paul George lead the way for the Pacers scoring twenty-seven points. This game went in to overtime so it is extra motivation for the Pacers. In my opinion I think that the Pacers will Game two, Game three, and Game six. I think this because all of Indiana's players are very motivated because of the tough loss. Also I think they wil win game six so they can try to stay alive for the finals. But the Heat will win it in Game seven and will advance to their third straight finals appereance. The top performers for the game are as followed.

Miam: L. James 30 pts, 10 Reb, 10 Ast, 3 Blk
Indiana: P. George 27 pts, 4 Reb, 5 Ast

Detroit Tigers VS. Cleveland Indians

When the Detroit Tigers took on the Cleveland Indians wednesday night, it was a showdown battle of the aces. Justin Verlander took the hill against Ubaldo Himenez. As rain started to pour onto the field, Justin Verlander wasn't about to let the rain delay take away his win.

Verlander returned to the mound after a 62 minute rain delay, to get his 5th win of the season. Cabrera also hit another homerun-maybe the luckiest of this season, as the Detroit Tigers knocked off the top team in the AL Central, being the Cleveland Indians.
Final Score-
Detroit Tigers- 11
Cleveland Indians- 7

Coming off of his Triple Crown Winning season in 2012, Miguel Cabrera is having easily as good of a season in 2013, if not better.

At this point in 2012- Miguel Cabrera was batting .307 with 8 home runs, and 45 runs batted in.
At the same point this year- The Tigers Slugger is batting .347 with 11 long bombs and 52 runs batted in.

Will Miguel Cabrera have the same legendary season that he had last year? Will there be a player who wins the Triple Crown Winner two years in a row? If Cabrera keeps those numbers up, there is certainly a possiblity.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder Game 5

Memphis Grizzlies Eliminate OKC Thunder in Game 5

Zach Randolph's Double Double helped the Memphis Grizzlies advance to the western conference final. Randolph had twenty-eight points, fourteen rebounds, two assists, and two steals. There's a lot of sadness in the air in Oklahoma City. Especially because Russell Westbrook was out this post season. The Thunder did have a late run but when Oklahoma City need it the most Kevin Durant couldn't get the last shot in. When OKC was making a late run and they needed a three to tie Durant decided to drive and pull up for a jumper. It was no good and Memphis advanced. The top performers for the game are as followed.

Memphis: Z. Randolph 28 Pts, 14 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl
OKC: R. Jackson 16 Pts, 9 Reb, 5 Ast

Miami Heat VS. Chicago Bulls Game 5

Chicago Bulls VS. Miami Heat Game 5 Highlights:

Knowing that his team needed him at a full 100%, Dwyane Wade retreated to the Miami locker room after the third quarter to get some quick treatment on his aching right knee. When he returned to the game he looked good as new, and he can now rest his knee until the Eastern Conference Finals.

LeBron James scored 23 points, Wade added 18 and had a 45-second sequence that proved crucial, and the Heat clawed back from an 11-point second-half deficit to beat the Chicago Bulls 94-91 on Wednesday night to cap off their series.

Carlos Boozer finished with 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Bulls, who were without their star point guard, Derrick Rose for the 99th straight game, as well as Kirk Hinrich (calf) and Luol Deng (illness). Nate Robinson scored 21 points, Jimmy Butler added 19, and Richard Hamilton scored 15points  for the Bulls, who dropped the final four games of the series.

The Miami Heat will move on to play the winner of the series between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers.
Final Score-
Miami Heat- 94
Chicago Bulls- 91
Top Performers
Chicago: C. Boozer 26 Pts, 14 Reb, 1 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 Blk
Miami: L. James 23 Pts, 7 Reb, 8 Ast, 2 Stl

Blackhawks Dominate

Last night the Blackhawks truly showed why they had earned the number one seed in the west division last night with a win over the hot Red Wings. The Wings looked tired as they were consistently out played, with the Wings giving away the puck 6 times and the Blackhawks only twice. Also, the Blackhawks out shot the Red Wings, getting two times the number of shots on goal.
Top Performers:
Blackhawks: Marian Hossa (4) (Power Play)
Assists: Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp
Red Wings: Damien Brunner (3)
Assists: Gustav Nyquist, Jonathan Ericsson

Stephen Curry and the Warriors looking to rally after the tough game 2 loss, and they did just that.

Pure Dominance

The Heat last night were purely dominant over the Bulls, making up for their game one dissapointment. At one point in the game the Heat were up 50 points over the Bulls, before they put in their bench players. Also surprising, there were a total of 9 technical fouls and also 2 total ejections as the cause of a lot of pushing and shoving. At the end of the day, the Heat performed like they did earlier in their season.
Top Performers:
Chicago: M. Belinelli 13 Pts, 2 Reb, 6 Ast, 1 Stl
Miami: L. James 19 Pts, 5 Reb, 9 Ast, 3 Stl

Bonino's Game Winner

Nick Bonino scored in overtime to take the Ducks to the brink of the second round with a 3-2 win over the Red Wings. Going to overtime for the second game in a row the Red Wings could not come out with the win. This is the third game that has gone into overtime. Now no question both teams are tired but if Detroit doesn't get a win the seires is over. This has been without a doubt one of the most exciting seires this season.

Golden State Warriors VS San Antonio Spurs Game 2

Golden State looked to bounce back after tough game 1 loss in double overtime 109-107.
Golden State was really the team who came out to play, and came out to win in game 2. The young Golden State Warriors team was not willing to go down again in a tough loss. Klay Thompson had a career-high 34 points and 14 rebounds, and Stephen Curry added 22 points for Golden State, which had not won in San Antonio since Feb. 14, 1997. None of the losses was as painful as the one Monday. Tim Duncan scored 23 points and Tony Parker added 20 for San Antonio.

The Warriors blew a 16-point lead with four minutes left in regulation in the series opener and lost 129-127 in double overtime. No NBA team had blown such a big lead with such little time left in a playoff game.

This lead for the Warriors was just too much to handle for the Spurs.
Golden State Warriors- 100
San Antonio Spurs- 91

Top Performers
Golden State: K. Thompson 34 Pts, 14 Reb, 1 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk
San Antonio: T. Duncan 23 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Blk
