The Marquette Golden Eagles are in the "Elite Eight" for the first time since 2003, Getting there with a huge double digit win over the Miami Hurricanes. The Golden Eagles were never threatened after taking a big double digit lead into halftime. Marquette ran away with this game in the second half. They held Miami to not very well of a shooting night but Shane Larkin still had 14 points. But Marquette was just too much for the Canes to handle.

Day one of the sweet sixteen was hectic. A heated battle as the Hoosiers from Indiana took on the Syracuse Orange. Syracuse looked too stop Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller with that solid 2-3 zone that the Orange run. Top seeded Indiana struggled to get the ball inside and also with the three-point shooting. Syracuse, however, was doing it right. Led by Michael Carter-Williams who threw down 24 points and snagged four steals in Syracuse's big win over Indiana.

Sweet Sixteen Rankings

1.              Louisville- With a high paced defense that challenges every offensive possession, this team definitely has a chance to go far into the tournament.
2.              Miami- After cruising through the ACC conference bracket, this team also has the potential of getting on a roll. Also, if they can be as consistent on their free throws as they are now, they definitely are a threat in this tournament.
3.              Michigan- After VCU, Michigan proved to everyone that they can withstand a high pressure defense, only turning over the ball 15 times, a season low against VCU’s defense. Also, Michigan proved that others that even if Burke is shut down offensively, the other players can step up and hit tough shots.
4.              Indiana- Barely escaping the second round against a tough Temple team, Indiana showed that they can play a both slow and a fast offense while still maintaining their composure.
5.              Ohio State- With their star point guard Aaron Craft, the Buckeyes have been on a roll and haven’t lost since Feb. 17th. They prove to everyone that a strong defensive team can also be a threat on the offense.
6.               Duke- After 2 convincing games they proved to everyone why they are a 2nd seed. With their star shooter Ryan Kelly, they are undefeated in regular season play. He gives them an edge that not a lot of teams can defend against or possess.
7.               Syracuse- The Orange might be the most inconsistent team in college basketball, however when they’re playing well they will challenge any team. In order to have a chance against Indiana they will need to be more dominant on offense.
8.                Michigan State- Michigan State could be the most physical team in college basketball, which will give them an advantage against almost every other team left in the bracket, however for the Spartans to win they are going to have to drive better
9.                Florida- Florida doesn’t win any games within 10 points of another team. This might be the only thing wrong with this strong, high scoring team. People shouldn’t sleep on the Gators though, if their defense can step up and force turnovers, they have a chance of winning it all.
10.                  Kansas- Although the Jayhawks are a number one seed, and did have a nice comeback over North Carolina last weekend, the Tar Heels were able to point out some sore spots in the Jayhawks defense. This may cause a few problems in their tough game coming up against Michigan.
11.                  Oregon- The ducks have shocked everyone by making it to the sweet sixteen but however, this may be the end of the road for the ducks facing a very tough Louisville. If the Ducks’ star Marcus Smart can score as many field goals as he did the last two games, than they might be able to pull of the major upset.
12.                  Wichita State- There is a lot of talk about the Shockers right now after upsetting two teams including a number one seed. However, the Shockers played over their head in that game from the three-point line, knocking off 14 of 28 field goals. We will see how well this team can do against someone who can guard the perimeter more efficiently.
13.                  Arizona- The Wildcats have lived up to their name this year, being another one of the most up and down teams in all of college basketball next to the Orange. Fortunately for them, they found the right time to be hot, winning their last to games, each by at least 10 points. They definitely are a team that can challenge and possibly beat the Buckeyes.
14.                  La Salle- After one more game than anyone else left in the bracket, many are questioning how La Salle pulled off two major upsets back-to-back. They do this by having one of the most difficult defenses to play against, this could help La Salle against a offense based team.
15.                  Marquette- The Golden Eagles somehow were able to pull off two stunning upsets against quality teams. However, if the Golden Eagles go down as many points as they did the last two games against the Hurricanes, than they might not be able to pull off another stunning win.
16.                  Florida Gulf Coast- This team has many questions surrounding it as they stunned two great teams. If they can keep the Gators close throughout the game than they might be able to pull off another upset, and be the first team to make it to the sweet sixteen.
Celtics by One
Jeff Green's buzzer beater layup gives Boston a thrilling win. It was a tight game the whole night, but Jeff Green and the Celtics finished the Cavs winning 93-92. This win by Boston snaps their five game losing streak. This win helps Boston get a Playoff Berth.

Top Peformers
Boston: P. Pierce-19 Pts, 10 Reb, 8 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 Blk
Clevland: C. Miles-13 Pts, 4 Reb, 6 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk
The streak, is no longer. After 27 games without a loss the Miami Heat strolled into Chigaco to take on the bulls as they were looking to shoot closer to the 33 game win streak set by the Las Angeles Lakers. The bulls, without Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Richard Hamilton look to be the first team to beat the heat since February 1st, and thats exactly what they did. The Bulls took advantage of Miami's weak spot: Their rebounding. Carlos Boozer grabbed 17 rebounds. Miami had a late game run but it was too little, too late for Lebron and the Heat. Nate Robinson also had a big contribution off the Bull's bench as he picked up 14 points. But the whole thing was wrapped up by Luol Deng.

Miami Heat- 97

Free Agency Frenzy
In the past twenty-four hours the Houston Texans signed free agent Ed Reed, and the Bears were not able to get a deal with Brian Urlacher yesterday and were forced to let him go. Now both of these actions are very big losses for Bears and Ravens. This is going to affect the Ravens tremendously because Baltimore has already lost Anquan Boldin and Ray Lewis. The Bears also take a huge hit not being able to sign the eight time pro bowl linebacker. Urlacher was a very big playmaker for the Bears and it will for sure take a toll on Chicago this year.
The Heat streak is now up to 24 games without a loss. Lebron and company roll into Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers, without Kyrie Irving. The Cavs' went on a 19-0 run in the second quarter and held Miami to just 10 points the the quarter. The Heat found them self in a hole down 27 points. But a win over Miami wont come cheap. Shane Battier helped shrink the deficite with the 3 pointer. Lebron also helped the cause while picking up his 36th carrer- Triple-Double with: 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Cavaliers had one last second shot to tie the game that was off the mark.
Final Score:
Heat: 98     Cavaliers: 95
Scoring Leaders-
Miami: L. James 25 Pts, 12 Reb, 10 Ast, 3 Stl, 2 Blk
Cleveland: W. Ellington 20 Pts, 7 Reb, 4 Ast, 1 Stl

The Heat barely make it 23
The Miami Heat just barely slipped by the Celtics to extend their winning streak to 23. Boston's Jeff Green did not let the heat go easy though, scoring a season high 43 of the Celtics 103 points last night. Lebron's 37 lead the Heat to victory. Most thought this was the end of Miami's streak, especially Boston fans. Celtic fans had extra hope because exactly five years ago from last night's game the Celtics ended Houston's 22 game winning streak. All of Boston thought they could do it again, but fell two points short to the mighty Miami Heat

Here are our predictions for the 2013-2014 College Football Rankings:

1.    Alabama- Although Alabama lost a stunning amount of key players in both their offensive and defensive lines, with many players to fill these places on the bench and a coach like Nick Saban, they should be able to bounce back to the top. Key games; at Texas A&M, vs. LSU, At Mississippi State.
2.    Texas A&M – Although Texas A&M are loosing star players like Damontre Moore and Luke Joeckel, with a top 10 recruiting class and their star quarterback, we expect them to build on their prior momentum and challenge Alabama and LSU for the top of the SEC. Key games; At LSU and vs. Alabama.
3.    Ohio State – Building off their first undefeated season since 2002, we expect Ohio State to be a contender for the National Championship.  Also with a top 5 recruiting class to work with and an outstanding coach, expect them to be an elite team. Key games; At Northwestern, At Michigan and vs. Wisconsin.
4.    Stanford – Stanford with their star quarterback Kevin Hogan, and their returning defense we expect them to return as an elite football team. They did however lose star offensive players like; running back Stefan Taylor and tight-end Zach Ertz. Also, with all of their important/ key games played at home we expect them to be elite. Key Games; vs. Oregon, vs. Notre Dame and vs. UCLA.
5.    Oregon – Much like other teams, Oregon lost a few key offensive players like KenjonBarner and their well-known coach, Chip Kelly. Although, with an abnormally easy schedule and a good replacement coach, expect Oregon to be very elite once again. Key Games;vs. UCLA, vs. Oregon State and at Stanford.
6.    Florida – With few players lost to the 2013 draft, and a top 5 recruiting class, expect Florida to be another contender in the SEC. Florida should be a dominate offensive team with Burton and Driskel returning to their team. However, they did loose their top defensive coordinator and their top running back to the NFL. Key games; vs. Florida State, at LSU, at Georgia and at South Carolina.
7.    Louisville – Returning with lots of momentum after one of Louisville’s best finishes to their season (as of late), they should bounce back to have another great season. They also have 7 returning starters on offense and 10 returning starters on defense to work with. However, the Cardinal’s schedule is yet to be announced, causing a little uncertainty to the season.
8.    South Carolina – Although they need running back help, a strong offensive line will help and a star quarterback should help their offense and take pressure off of their new running back. Also, with a few returning players on defense like JadeveonClowney, they should an good all around team. Key games; at Georgia, vs. Florida and vs. Clemson.
9.    Notre Dame – With a top 5 recruiting class and a stout defensive line, Notre Dame should make another great run. But with one of the toughest schedules in college football and a loss of key players like Manti Te’o and Cierre Wood, don’t expect a undefeated repeat. Key Games; At Michigan, At Stanford, vs. Oklahoma and vs. USC.
10.                Georgia – The Georgia Bulldog’s defense is in very serious question right now, only returning with 3 starters they have one of the youngest defenses in college football. On the other side, they have great offensive players returning like Aaron Murray and running back Todd Gurley. If Georgia’s young defense can come through in big games they will be a top team. Key Games; at Clemson, vs. South Carolina, vs. LSU and vs. Florida.
11.                Clemson- With Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins returning along with some of the nations best receivers, expect the Tigers to have another dominant offense. Also, if the coordinator Brent Venables can have the Tigers’ defense functioning by the beginning of the season, expect the Tigers to have another impressive season. Key games;vs. Georgia bulldogs, at NC State and at South Carolina.
12.                Michigan- Devin Gardner proved at the Outback Bowl that he can play well at a very high level, and with the best ranked freshman running back, they should have another great offense. Also, with Jake Ryan returning along with 6 starters on their defense they could do very well. Key games; vs. Notre Dame, vs. Nebraska, at Northwestern and vs. Ohio State.
13.                Oklahoma-  Although Blake Bell (Bell-dozer) will have to convert to Bell-thrower, we expect their offense with four offensive linemen and two top running backs returning, expect their offense to be impressive. However their defense isn’t expecting quite as much, losing most of their defense to the draft there is a lot of uncertainty for the Sooners defense. Key games; at Notre Dame, vs. TCU, vs. Texas, at Baylor, and at Kansas State.
14.                Florida State- In recent years, Florida State’s seasons have all been ruined by odd ACC road losses, however with most of their offensive line returning for another year and a great defensive coordinator they might be able to avoid these losses. Also, with a schedule that they can easily succeed in, they might do very well. Key games; at Clemson, vs. NC State and at Florida.
15.                Texas- With lingering frustration from last season, due to a young team, Texas will be looking to have a breakout season. Although they will have to work with a small recruiting class, they should have enough people to address the problem with their offensive line. Key games; vs. Kansas State, vs. Oklahoma, at TCU and vs. Oklahoma State.
16.                TCU- Bringing back 6 starters on offense and 10 on defense, they should do much better than a disappointing season last year. Their first game should tell to how the seasons going to go for them with a tough game against LSU. Key games; vs. LSU, at Oklahoma, at Oklahoma State, vs. Texas and at Kansas State.
17.                Oregon State- Although Oregon State will have to replace a star quarterback and decide on 2 young quarterbacks, they will have a lot of time before they start their big games. Also, they will have to replace most of their defense with new, younger players. However we expect Oregon State to be able to do well in their schedule anyways. Key games; vs. Stanford, vs. USC and at Oregon.
18.                LSU- With 10 underclassmen lost to the NFL draft, LSU has their work cut out for them this season. Also, with a tough SEC schedule LSU definitely has their work cut out for them this year. But, a top 10 recruiting class and a coach like Les Miles they should be able to rebuild soon. Key games;vs. TCU, at Georgia, at Alabama and vs. Texas A&M.
19.                Nebraska- With a candidate big playmaker coming back at quarterback and a talented running back, they should continue moving to the towards the top of the Big Ten. Although they must replace 6 starters on defense and a starting running back Rex Burkhead, their talented coaching staff should be able to fill in the holes. Key games;at Michigan, vs. UCLA and vs. Northwestern.
20.                Northwestern- Returning with momentum from their first bowl game win since 1949 and most of the core of their offensive line, we expect them to build on that momentum. The only parts that Northwestern lost are some of its offensive line, but if they can replace that then they should be able to do well. Key Games; vs. Michigan, at Nebraska, vs. Ohio State and at Wisconsin.
21.                Vanderbilt- Although they lost a few games in 2012, those teams turned out to be three of the best teams in the country. If Vanderbilt can upset South Carolina, Florida or Georgia, than they could be able to be a contender for the SEC east title. Key games; at South Carolina, vs. Georgia, at Texas A&M and at Florida.
22.                Boise State- returning a much-improved quarterback from last year the broncos will follow his lead. Losing their running back from last year will hurt. Defense always keeps them in the game, so if they can score it should be a tough team. Key games;at Utah State, at Washington.
23.                UCLA- Losing Running back Jonathan franklin and both of their cornerbacks will not help. Quarterback Brett Hundley is going to have to lead the charge for UCLA. We will see how their season goes with the game at Nebraska. Key games; at Nebraska, at Stanford and at Oregon.
24.                Kansas State- Losing one of the best quarterbacks of Kansas State history, they will have their work cut out for them this year. However, with 32 prospects including 6 junior college prospects Kansas State could develop late in the season as a star team once again.
25.                Oklahoma State- In spring coaches will be having a tough time picking the starting quarterback. Star running back and star wide receiver are coming back with a potent offense. The defense on the other hand will have a lot of work to do. Key games; vs. Kansas State, vs. TCU, at Texas and vs. Oklahoma.

Harvin to the Seahawks and Boldin to the 49ers
Yesterday Percy Harvin was traded to the Seahawks for a first-round pick. This trade makes the Seahawks the most dangerous team in the NFC. The 49ers general manager Trent Baalke countered by trading a sixth-round pick to Baltimore for veteran receiver Anquan Boldin. Receiving Boldin the 49ers can compete with Harvin and the Seahawks for a NFC title next year.
Michigan looked to capitalize at the Crisler Center and they welcomed the Indiana Hoosiers. This was a close game throughout the whole game. Michigan, who was led by Trey Burke: 20 Pts, 3 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk tried to knock off the Hoosiers who were led by, Cody Zeller: 25 Pts, 10 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Blk. Michigan had a chance to win it with missed free-throws from Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway JR, and Glenn Robinson III. They also had another chance to win but Jordan Morgan just missed the tip-in as the ball rolled around the rim.

Can you say Sixteen
Lebron's game winning layup with three seconds left extend the Heat's franchise winning streak to sixteen. But right after blowing a twenty point lead to the Magic. There is defiantly a problem the heat have with non-playoff teams at home. During their streak the heat have almost been upseted three times by the Cavaliers, the Kings, and last night the magic. If they want to continue their winning streak they to take care of business against these non-playoff teams.
