Oklahoma City Thunder VS. Houston Rockets Game 4

Houston finally found a way to sneak a game from the Westbrook-less Oklahoma City Thunder in game 4. They finally found the right recipe to stay alive from getting swept in the first round.

Chandler Parsons scored 27 points and Patrick Beverley added 16 points with point guard Jeremy Lin out with a bruised chest muscle. Houston avoided the 4 game sweep. The Rockets led in the fourth quarter of each of the previous two games only to end up losing.

Reggie Jackson drove to the basket as time expired and threw up a shot that he looked to be fouled on the play, missed the shot. Serge Ibaka also had a chance to easily tip in the shot to tie the game up and send it into overtime, but he came up short.
Final Score-
Oklahoma City Thunder- 103
Houston Rockets- 105

Led by Lopez, Nets alive

Last night in game 5 of the Brooklyn Chicago playoff series Brooklyn hoped to end their 3 game skid with a must-need win against the Bulls to stay alive. However, this would be the Bulls 4th straight win which they haven't done all season. Up only 5 points in the last 2 minutes the Nets finished off their game with a 17-3 run to win the game and push the series to a game 7.

Hawks Even Series

Josh Smith's twenty nine points and eleven rebounds gave the Hawks a win to tie the series at two a piece. Smith's double double helped tremendously. This series could go any way depending on how the teams' stars perform.

                                        Couldn't Finish

The Lakers could not respond to the Spurs' late game runs. San Antonio was too much for the Lakers in the second half. It was a pretty tight game the whole way through, but once the Spurs were going the Lakers could not slow them down. If only Kobe was there. If Kobe Bryant would have been playing I feel the game would have been totally different, for a couple of reasons. One, there would be another scoring threat. The Lakers really needed a player who could get a couple of baskets late in the game. The second reason is their would be less pressure on Dwight. With Kobe out there is much more pressure on Dwight Howard. Next season should be better with Kobe healthy.

Thunder Sneak Past Rockets in Game Two

Thunder blow 15-point lead as they sneak past the Houston Rockets in Game Two.

Rookie, Patrick Beverley, showed a courage to go toe-to-toe with all star Thunder PG, Russel Westbrook.
Russel Westbrook and Kevin Durant both scored 29 points, as the OKC Thunder recovered after dropping their large lead to beat Houston in game two.

Durant hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2 and half minutes left to play after the Rockets had turned a 15-point deficit, into a four-point lead, and the Thunder didn't relinquish the lead. Durant missed a free throw with 1 second left, but Houston was out of timeouts and couldn't connect on a desperation shot at the final buzzer.

Warriors Take Game 2 Over The Nuggets

Stephen Curry, and the Golden State Warriors, send the Denver Nuggets to a rare home loss.

Stephen Curry had 30 points and 13 assists, as the hot Warriors handed the Nuggets their first home loss in more than 3 months.
Rallying around the injured All-Star Forward, David Lee, the Warriors got 26 points from a suprising player, backup point guard, Jarrett Jack.

"They were nocking down their shots" Andre Iguodala said in an understatment.

The third-seeded Nuggets were an NBA-best 38-3 at home during the regular season but needed a last-second shot to beat Golden State by a basket in the opener and extend their franchise-best winning streak to 24 games.

The story was different in Denver for game two though. The Warriors were just too much to handle for the Nuggets in this high scoring contest.

Knicks Take 2-0 Lead

The once-mighty Boston Celtics can seem to stop the rage that the New York Knicks are putting together.

Carmelo Anthony put up 34 points, "Sixth Man of The Year" award winner, JR Smith added 19 points. As the Knicks took a 2-0 lead over the falling Celtics.
The Knicks, who used a 27-4 scoring run over the Celtics into halftime, gave them a little leway to work with into the second half. Thus, leading the Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks to their first 2-0 playoff series lead since the year, 2000. The Knicks will be looking to shut down the Celtics in game three.

Wings In Danger of Missing Playoffs

For the first time in 19 years, the Detroit Red Wings are in trouble of missing a playoff bid. This playoff streak is the longest in all of NHL history, and Columbus, Dallas and Minnesota are all fighting to also make the playoffs. A few of these teams are also facing each other in their last three games. These late and very important match ups will make a great and exciting finish ending the regular season.

Clippers VS. Grizzlies. Playoff Game 2

His ability to shoot the basketball in the clutch is one of the reasons why the Los Angeles Clippers brought Chris Paul to town. He came up big with a tenth of a second left in game two Monday night.

Paul's running jumper against Tony Allen gave the Clippers a 93-91 win and a 2-0 series lead over the Grizzlies. "Tony Allen played as good of defense as you can play." Paul said, "I looked up at the clock and thought I better get a shot off."

Both teams had to stay on the court as the referees reviewed the play. They confirmed it was good. There was not enough time for the Grizzlies to inbound the ball and get a shot off, so thats how the game ended.

Memphis Grizzlies- 91
Los Angeles Clippers- 93

Lakers Finish Strong

The Lakers last night did much more than what most people expected to do without Kobe, not only making the playoffs but also securing a 7th seed. They took on the the surging Houston Rockets.  Led by Pau Gasol who had 20 points.
Final Score: LA Lakers: 99   Houston Rockets: 95 OT
The Lakers will be taking on the 2 seed, San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs took 2 of 3 games in the regular season, with their start, Kobe Bryant on the court. They will go head to head on Sunday for game one.

Blackhawks win 6 Straight

The Blackhawks have started another impressive streak, although they have already secured a playoff birth recently. This is a clear example of how the blackhawks are refusing to let up heading into the playoffs starting soon.

Pistons give Hope for Next Season

The Pistons win their home finale against Philadelphia 109-101. This win ties the Piston's highest winning streak of four games. Detroit has one game left against the Nets. If they win there is a chance that Detroit won't get into the lottery. If they lose they will be in the lottery. Either way the Pistons have given much hope to their fans for next season.

The Lakers Battle

The battle for 8th seed in the Western Conference is really heating up and last night the Lakers battled the Trail Blazers.  The Lakers won a close game and they couldn’t have done it without the help from their leading scorer Kobe Bryant. He put up a very impressive 47 points and 5 assists in last night’s match. Although Kobe really put the team on his back, the Lakers need other players to really step up if they want to make the playoffs and also do well in the playoffs. Although they have a one game lead over the Jazz, they still need to perform and come out strong.

Our First NHL Post

This post will be the very first post that this blog has made about the NHL, and this is simply because we do not follow this league as much as others. However, we have made a very large effort to change this by learning and following this league more extensively recently, and we will start to make more posts about it.
Pistons take down the Cavs
Andre Drummond's twenty-nine points give the Pistons a seven point victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 111-104. It was a close game the whole way through, but the Pistons' thirty seven fourth quarter points gave them their twenty seventh win of the season. Their next game is Friday against the Bobcats, they will probably win and this will but a good end to the season.

Eighteen days until the start of MLL
Major League Lacrosse starts on Saturday April 27th. The first game will have last year's runner up the Denver Outlaws and, Charlotte Hounds. Charlotte looks to make a playoff run in only their second season in the MLL. The other game that day will have the Chesapeake Bayhawks and The Rochester Rattlers. The Bayhawks are the defending champions and, Rochester will also look to make a playoff run this season. This is starting to look like one of the more exciting seasons in the MLL.
A Strong Finish makes it Three National Championships for the Cardinals.
Louisville's late game run sealed the deal for the Cardinals. Luke Hancock's twenty two points led Louisville to their third national championship in school history. Unforunatly for the Wolverines foul trouble was a big problem last night. Mitch McGary had to sit a little bit at the end of the game because he committed his fourth foul with nine minutes to go. That was a big loss for Michigan when he was on the bench. Also Trey Burke sat almost the whole first half due to 2 early fouls. Freshman, Spike Alberecht carried michigan in the first half going 4 for 4 from behind the ark. This Might have been Trey Burke last time in the maize and blue colors of Michigan.
